A Little Background First...

Hey everyone, my name is Noel and a few months back I decided it was time to look into natural vision improvement after I broke a nice pair of glasses I'd had for almost a week. I looked over a bunch of things, and eventually bought a product....and then another. This blog reviews my experiences with them.

My vision was originally 20/50 (-1.25 diopter, so I was myopic or nearsighted) but I noticed improvement within a week. Today, I am happy to report I am glasses free. You can scroll down the page or click the links in the sidebar to get to the reviews.

A Quick Heads Up

Please keep in mind that these are not "quick fixes." They require consistent effort over a period of time.

Though you can find a lot of what is contained in these guides for free, it takes a lot of digging, and you won't get it all. For those who are cash strapped, Vision Without Glasses is only $27.

Attitude is #1 in Eyesight Improvement

Also, be aware that your attitude will be the single biggest determinant of whether this will work or not. There can be no changing a cynic. In fact, in a recent study reported by Discover magazine (published in April, 2010);

Eyesight markedly improved when people were experimentally induced to believe that they could see especially well, Langer and her colleagues report in the April Psychological Science. Such expectations actually enhanced visual clarity, rather than simply making volunteers more alert or motivated to focus on objects...

And later on,

Langer's new findings build on long-standing evidence that visual perception depends not just on relaying information from the eyes to the brain but on experience-based assumptions about what can be seen in particular situations....Participants who said they thought that they could improve their eyesight with practice displayed a bigger vision boost on the reversed chart than those who didn't think improvement was possible...

I recommend reading the whole thing. Enjoy my reviews of 3 popular natural vision improvement programs, good sight to you all!

#1. Rebuild Your Vision Review (www.rebuildyourvision.com)

This one is kind of expensive, but it does come as a physical product. There are 2 big pluses in this – first, you can read it at a table, and second, when you spend that much you sure are motivated to complete the course (it's $120, but it's broken up - explanation is a bit further down).I am a huge fan of physical books over ebooks, and being able to use this away from the computer is awesome. Rebuild Your Vision also comes with tools, and while these wouldn't be all that hard to source yourself, the fact is that you don't have to. Also, without these specific tools you wouldn't stumble on the exercises associated with them. There is also software included to remind you when to look away from your computer screen to reduce near point stress. While handy, that's not practical for those on a tight deadline.

It comes with sections on history, definitions, and theory and while some of the exercises are standard, there are quite a few unique ones as well. Again, these go hand in hand with the gear supplied. There is also a supplement backend to it – you get one free bottle, and then if you decide to order another you are placed on an automatic rebill program. I didn't try the supplement.

The cost for the program is $120, but it does provide a lot of value. There is a $20 up front fee, and if you are satisfied, you will be billed the remaining $100 in 30 days time. The time commitment is low as well – only 25 minutes a day for 30 days, though you can keep going after that. Support on this is consistently quick. The refund period is an insane 1 year.

Overall I liked this one the best because it resonated with me the best. It has excellent structure, specific instructions, and did I mention its a physical product? You get supplements, a guide, software, and gear. And the time commitment is the lowest of the three programs tested.

#2. Vision Without Glasses Review (www.visionwithoutglasses.com)

Vision without glasses review image.

This product has the best value. At only $27 it is roughly 1/4 the cost of the closest competitor, while delivering good information. The price is listed as $37, but as soon as you try to leave the page, the special offer pops up. That said, the reason why it's not #1 is that it's a digital product, and that at such a low price point people usually aren't motivated enough to follow through. But if you know you can stick to it, this may be the program for you.

Click here to visit Vision Without Glasses

It starts off with explaining 11 different types of vision problems, and how to reverse their effects. There is an expansive section on how to completely relax your eyes – as there should be. This is the most critical step to natural vision correction.

It then goes on to different exercises you can do in that relaxed state. This is a good way to get the ball rolling, and once you've done these for a while you will come up with your own, as I did. The key here is to know when you're straining or stressing your eyes, and go back to relaxing them. And yes, there is a difference, as explained in the book.

Though it covers much the same ground as every natural vision improvement product there is, the difference is value. You can't beat the price. The refund period is 8 weeks (56 days), which is actually the shortest of these 3 programs. It's still long enough that you can try it for a month and a half and if things aren't up to snuff...just refund it. The only thing I ask is that you give it an honest, daily effort for that time period.

Support is good, though not always instant. You do get unlimited emails though.

Quality: 8/10
Effectiveness: 10/10
Ease of Use: 7/10 (it's harder than it might seem to start a new daily habit and keep it going)

#3. Mercola.com Vision Program Review (products.mercola.com/vision-program)

If you've never heard mercola.com this is your lucky day. It is by far the premier health website on the internet, and it has outstanding products. Their vision program is no less impressive. The program comes in 3 packages – 2 CDs or MP3s ($149 each) or 6 CDs plus 2 print books for $184. These are all the same program; it just depends what format you get it in. The 2 print books are Relearning to See: Improve Your Eyesight – Naturally! (521 pages), and Better Eyesight: The Complete Magazines of William H. Bates (708 pages). Clearly, this is the most in-depth program out there. Heck, even the sales letter page is worth a read for all the valuable info it provides.

Again, there is the standard history, theory, exercises, relaxation methods, but like the other 2 it has its own twists on these. There is also a greater emphasis on exercises plus a proper diet that will lead to optimal eye health. It also comes with tools for particular exercises. The refund period is 3 months, and you can call support – I've never had to wait more than 2 minutes to talk to a live person.

While the most expensive, it is also the most complete. There are sections on exercises, diet, proper rest, etc...and as such it really takes a holistic approach to improving your eyesight. It is a little overwhelming though. I don't recommend it for newbies as you'd have to be super motivated to get through everything. You should start with something a little expansive...and a little more thoroughly planned out. There's a lot more planning that you have to come up with if you really want to implement the correct diet, rest, and training routine. So unless you already have a bit of knowledge, or can safely tackle ambitious projects, you should probably get your feet wet with something a little easier to handle...meaning more likely to be fully completed.
